One fantasy football team down, two to go.
14 teams, keeper league, scoring system below, keeps in italics. Drafted 2nd in odd rounds, 13th in even.
QB: Peyton Manning
RB: Rudi Johnson
RB: LaMont Jordan
WR: Joe Horn
WR: Michael Clayton
TE: Doug Jolley
RB/WR: Tatum Bell
K: David Akers
D: New England
BENCH: Brian Griese, Aaron Rodgers, Mewelde Moore, Justin Fargas, Isaac Bruce, Kevin Curtis
The same guy took LaDainian Tomlinson, Mike Anderson, and Chris Perry one pick ahead of me (not exactly shocking that LT went #1 though).
STARTERS:
A full backfield of keepers (costing 4th, 6th, & 7th round picks) freed me up to go for QB/WR in early rounds. When a passing TD is worth 5/6 a rushing TD and a passing yard is worth half a rushing yard (instead of .4), Peyton is more valuable than he would have been. The WR were best available (in my opinion) as of 27th/30th overall. The K/D were best available in appropriate rounds. Jolley was a late crapshoot.
BENCH:
Griese faces the 49ers on Manning's bye week; Rodgers was a last-round flyer, possible 2006 keep. Moore has upside on a good offense with a fragile starter; Fargas locks down the Oakland RB situation. If Tatum Bell can't get enough carries in Denver then my flex guy is either the old Ram or the young Ram.

At first glance, that team looks really good for a 14 man league. Everyone should produce, except maybe Tatum Bell (but you are prepared for that) and Doug Jolley (and unless you drafted Gonzalez, any TE is going to be a crapshoot.) I have to think the Jets didn't give up a first round pick [well, really move down from their first round pick] for a guy they don't plan on using, so I'm guessing he'll produce at least as well as any other TE.
Don't you think this league is really RB heavy for a 14 man league, though?

*- Manning was obviously the highest drafted QB.
*- Horn and Clayton were the 8th & 9th WR.
*- My team was the last to pick up a TE. Gonzalez went R3, Gates and Witten kept, Shockey R4, Heap R5, McMichael R6, and a bunch of interchangeable parts around R10.
*- Despite being #1 on my board, New England was the 4th defense drafted (Pittsburgh, Carolina, Baltimore, all Round 8).
*- Akers (R9) was the first kicker drafted even though I had Vinatieri at #1. The roster issues created when your defense and kicker have the same bye exceeded the difference between Vinatieri and Akers, as did the difference between New England and the next best available defense. Elam went four picks later, Vinatieri at the end of R10, most kickers R12 or later.
Kept players:
QB- Culpepper (for the #11 pick), Leftwich (R7), Brees (R7), Carr (R8), Harrington (R9), Rivers (R13). Some of those mid-round QB keeps seem questionable to me. I should have tried harder to trade Roethlisberger (keepable for a R14), though at the time there was no guarantee Tatum Bell and LaMont Jordan would both be worth freezing.
RB- Kevin Jones (for the #24 pick), Curtis Martin (R3), Westbrook (R4), D. Davis (R4), R. Johnson (R4), Dunn (R5), J. Jones (R5), Bettis (R6), Bell (R6), Jordan (R7), Ri. Williams (R7), Pittman (R7), L. Johnson (R7), S. Jackson (R7), McGahee (R8).
WR- Andre Johnson (R4), Reggie Wayne (R5), Donald Driver (R6), Nate Burleson et al (R7 and below).
TE- Antonio Gates (R10), Jason Witten (R11).
