A Narrowly Missed Milestone

We were at this game even though I was going to have a hard "leave by" deadline.

As it happens, we got to stay in our seats for the first eight innings and were technically still in the park (about to exit the turnstiles) when the game ended.

I've always wanted to go to a game that took 1:59 or less to complete. This one needed just 1:14 for the first six innings. Then one of the biggest precursors to a two-hour game came through when the A's took the lead in the 7th (I presume that a vast majority of two-hour games are won by the home team, as the not needing to play the bottom of the ninth helps the time of game). But the eighth inning rally (off Brian Meadows, which means Brian Meadows is still in the majors) that led to Oakland's insurance run also took a lot of time and pitches.

Even so, nice crisp win.
